This blog will consist of 38 subjects of interest relating to the experiences of a foreigner living in Hong Kong.
Why 38? It’s been my call-sign for my internet presence since I opened my first and only e-mail address at Hotmail in 1998 (when I was 38 years old). Since then I have used steventhompson38 for my Yahoo/Geocities internet presence (since 2001), Google since 2004, as well as Flickr (2006), and Youtube (2007), and now WordPress (2008).
It’s also a lucky number – when spoken in Cantonese. And three and eight are Fibonacci numbers, and form part of the Golden Number. For me, anything proportioned in the ratio of 3 and 8 has a head start in the race to achieve classic beauty. The Investment Weekly is a regular newsletter about Hong Kong’s stock market using various technical indicators. After the 38th edition, I’ll cease writing. I’ve posted 10 to date.
